Canadian-born David Stuart (November 19, 1965, Edmonton, Alberta) developed an interest in acting at an early age growing up in Fredericton, New Brunswick. His first "role" in the Grade 2 Christmas play was booked without an audition due to his uncanny ability to hyper-extend his stomach. Apparently the bug bit as Acting has been his primary passion ever since. After completing a B.F.A. in Acting at the University of Victoria, David headed to Los Angeles to attend both summer school and the two year program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. While studying his craft, David worked as a background performer on such classics as Bird on a Wire (1990) and "21 Jump Street" (1987). His first guest starring role was on the 1988 series "Time Exposures" (1988) alongside Peter Outerbridge (Lucky Number Slevin (2006), "ReGenesis" (2004)). From there he earned roles on shows like "The X Files" (1993), "Touched by an Angel" (1994) and "Jake 2.0" (2003). During this time, you could also find him in a supporting role on the big screen in a number of films. On top of his successful film and television career David Stuart has booked over 100 commercials. Among them a Kyocera spot directed by Jason Reitman (Thank You for Smoking (2005)) and the Ford Mustang tribute to Bullitt (1968) and Field of Dreams (1989) titled 'Cornfield' featuring Steve McQueen. In 2007, David can be found guest starring on a number of hit shows.
The commercial he starred in for the Schizophrenia Society of British Columbia won Gold at the 2003 Toronto International Advertizing Awards. It was also chosen second out of 33 countries at the Mobius Awards for outstanding creativity. It also won the B.C. Broadcasters Humanitarian Award for 2004.A few of his past jobs include: Taxi Driver, Door to Door Encyclopedia Salesman, Movie Theatre Usher, Fry Cook at Wendy's, Busboy, and Licensed Private Investigator. He can juggle three pins and four balls and was once hired to perform as a clown in the food court of a local mall.He has completely taken apart the engine of a Ford Fiesta and rebuilt it using only a socket wrench, screwdriver and sandpaper. He has trained in Clowning, Shakespeare, Mime and Classical Italian Comedy. He once played a small role in the X-Files. Two days prior to the shoot, he broke his foot. He refused to have a cast put on fearing he would lose the job and shot the scene over two days with a broken foot.
